Saigon River Photo Wins at Tourism Photo Contest

- A photograph capturing the Saigon River at night clinched the top spot in the Amazing Vietnam online photo contest. This contest was a collaboration between Du Lich Magazine and the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
- The first-prize photo, taken by Nguyen Dang Viet Cuong of Ho Chi Minh City, stood out amongst 13,279 submissions from 1,032 photographers countrywide. The judges found that Cuong’s image excelled in both artistic expression and its conveyance of a message. This resonated with the authority’s focus on promoting night and waterway tourism.

- Additional awards were distributed:
- Second prizes: Dang Thi Phuong Lan (Yen Bai) and Vu Van Lam (Hai Phong).
- Three third prizes and five encouragement prizes.
- Most liked and loved photo: “Mong Ngua Terraced Rice Field in Water Pouring Season” by Duong Hoai An.
- Most shared photo: “Foggy Ta Pa” by Nguyen Dong Xuan.
- The competition, which started on December 21, 2022, saw a widespread participation of over 1,000 photographers submitting more than 13,200 photos.

- Nguyen Trung Khanh, the VNAT director, praised the entries for their quality, themes, creativity, and artistry. These photos, he mentioned, would be instrumental in endorsing Vietnam’s tourism.
- Besides the winners, 175 standout photos have been chosen for a display at the Vietnam Cultural and Art Centre in Hanoi. These images encapsulate Vietnam’s scenic vistas, vibrant culture, and diverse populace, often depicting tourists immersing themselves in various destinations throughout the nation.
